09 Days Uganda Adventure

Highlights: 

Day 1 ,Arrival and Overnight.

Day2: Rhino tracking, Murchison Falls National Park,

Day 1   Entebbe International Airport/Entebbe

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, proceed to clear with immigration and customs. You will be met by the Primate Expeditions representative just outside the baggage hall area and be transferred to your hotel. Check in and have the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2   Murchison Falls National Park

Early morning breakfast and depart for Murchison falls national park through Uganda’s remote villages, stop over at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary in Nakasongola and trek the Rhinos on foot, this is one of the rarest adventures where one may get closer to the rhino upto about 15 meters apart. Thereafter proceed for lunch and later drive to Murchison Falls National Park via Masindi arriving at the lodge in the evening. Check in for dinner and overnight.

Day 3   Murchison Falls National Park

Following breakfast you depart for a morning game drive in the northern bank of river Nile as we look out for the elephant, lion, Cape buffalo, Rothschild giraffe, hartebeest, Oribi, bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, spotted hyena and if lucky you could even spot the leopard. We will be back in time to have breakfast and lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon we take a boat cruise at 1500 hours upstream to the “bottom of the falls”. The Nile here gets calm at the base of the falls, we stop a few meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron”, where it compresses 47meters to squeeze through a 6-meter canyon dropping 40 meters with a thunderous roar.  En-route, marvel at the, hippos, crocodiles and over this 17 km stretch you may see elephants as well as a lot of bird species like Goliath heron, pelican bee– eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant and the rare shoebill stork.

Day 4   Kibale Forest National Park

Check out after breakfast, depart Murchison Falls National Park with your packed lunches and drive to Kibale National Park via Hoima and Fort Portal, in a breathtaking landscape that forms the Albertine western Rift Valley, approx. 6 hours’ arriving at the lodge late afternoon. Check in and have the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 5   Kibale Forest National Park

Early breakfast and later proceed to the Uganda Wildlife Authority Park headquarters where you will be briefed on the etiquette while the forest and in the presence of the chimps. After briefing, you will enter the forest in search for the cheeky chimps as well as other Primates. Thereafter, be transferred for Bigodi for a swamp walk, return to the lodge in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight

Day 6   Queen Elizabeth

Depart after breakfast, drive via Kasese to Queen Elizabeth National Park, afternoon game drives en-route looking out commonly known for the tree climbing lion in Ishasha sector.  Proceed to check in at the Camp to the lodge before dusk for dinner and overnight

Day 7   Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Reserve

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and join in for a short game drive trying your luck, the second time to spot the tree climbing, later depart to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home of the endangered mountain gorilla approximately 1:30hrs drive arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. Check in at Mahogany Springs Lodge and the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 8   Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Reserve

You will have an early morning breakfast at the lodge. Later drive to the nearby park offices, reaching in time to attend briefing by the Tourism conservation and gorilla guides. You will be briefed on how to behave in the forest while in the presence of the gorilla family. Later, after registration the gorilla trekking starts with trackers, guides and porters and this may take as few minutes to as long as a couple of hours. Once the gorilla group is found you will be allowed an hour to stay with the gorillas before breaking off for lunch in the forest. Later walk back to your waiting vehicle and return to the park offices to receive a gorilla trekking certificate. You will later return to your accommodation to freshen.

Day 9   Entebbe

Breakfast at the Lodge, Thereafter be transferred back to Kihihi airstrip for your Aerolink flight to Entebbe ETD 0945 ETA 1125 (baggage allowance strictly 15kgs in soft sided duffel bags)  arriving in time to connect on your outbound flight. Or, Transferred to the hotel for a day/evening room use and later dropped back to the airport for late Departures
