A game drive in this park will also expose you to a number of wild games dwelling in there, a boat cruise in this park is one of its kind which has never been equaled on earth. The highest peak of this safari is hiking on top of Murchison falls which is the world’s strongest water fall. All these are worth for a collection of moments and stories to tell.

Detailed itinerary  

Day 1:  Transfer to Murchison fall Nationals Park.

A wake up call and have an early morning breakfast, you will be met by Mwitu tours safari/driver guide who will brief through your adventurous trip to Murchison falls national park, departing at 7:00am. You will drive via Kampala through remote villages of Uganda heading to Murchison, you will make a stop-over at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary in Nakasongola district, to have your first Safari experience of the series by tracking the rhinos on foot, after which you will proceed to Masindi for lunch, then board your vehicle and drive straight to Murchison falls national park, you have a breathtaking sightings while you hike to the top of Fall before you proceed to check in at the lodge and have the rest of the afternoon at leisure, dinner and overnight

Day 2:  Birding in the park and boat cruise downstream

Get up earlier and have your breakfast as well as packed lunch for the return will after the day’s explorative excursions, board your waiting vehicle and head to the jetty, where you will take a boat cruise downstream to the Albert delta where the slow-moving waters created swampy islands where a great number of water birds nesting in there including the most sought for Shoe-bill stork, herons, kingfishers and many more. .

Your driver will come with a Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger and guide through the jungle in search for different bird species habituating in the park. A number of birds including Ground Hornbill, Abyssinian Roller, Red-throated Bee-eater, Saddle-billed Stork, Long-toed Lapwing, Little Bittern, Osprey, Red-necked Falcon, Blue-breasted Bee-eater, Black-headed lapwing. Common, Grey crowned crane. Common, Senegal thick-knee. Red-throated Bee-eater, Bar-breasted Fire-finch, White-rumped Canary, White-rumped Seed eater, Night jars (Pennant-winged & Standard-winged) and many more.  Murchison falls National park being a rich biodiversity hotspot, as you’re birding, you may be able spot a number of the wild game that call Murchison n home. break off for lunch and later embark on you evening game drive.

Day 3: Game drive and boat cruise up stream

Early in morning you will meet you drive and the park guide then move to the jungle for a game drive where you will spot the early morning risers and the hunters before they move back to their hide outs. Among others, lions, leopards, bush pigs, antelopes, buffaloes, giraffes and other games in the park. After the game drive, you will move back to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation.

In the afternoon, have a boat cruise up stream towards the falls. Murchison falls is the world’s strongest waterfall which oozes from a small gorge on the Victoria Nile. Many wild games are sited along the river banks grazing while others cooling their body temperatures. Schools of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes and many animals are sited.

After the boat cruise, move to top of the falls where you will have a clear view of the entire park. You shoot as many photos as you can on top of the falls which will make you safari a memorable one. After retire and move back to the lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 4: Travel back to Kampala

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and have a leisurely drive back to Kampala, and have a brief city tour before being transferred in time to catch your onward flight.
